Lester Hunting Ranch

Lester Ranch...

LesterRanch.jpg

Before I start talking about the hunting ranch, I wanted to first say how good the Lester family is. When I first met them they were more than happy to show me around the ranch. They stopped what they were doing hopped in a side by side, and took me around.

They treated me just like i was one of the family. Mr. Lester had story after story about the locals that kept me completely intrigued. He showed me that I wasn't just a possible client, but like I was family, which I really appreciated. Riding though the ranch I saw really good looking black bucks, White tale bucks and doe. We jumped up a buck, that they were saying was a small one. In my mind I'm thinking, small? Yeah it may not have been a BIG one but I wouldn't have hesitated to shoot it on public land.

After showing me around I messed up and took a look in the walk in cooler. (Jealous Much!!) The deer hanging were not just any deer, they were really big deer. They were skinning a 170+ class deer that was just shot that day. The deer in the cooler were every much as big or bigger. Just a few weeks before, there was a hunter that shot a 270+ plus white tale. I got to see the pictures and that thing was what dreams are made of!!! Well, at least my dreams anyway....

They have several lodges on the property that I thought were perfect for a guy like me. I am not into the yuppie life lodges so these were just right. Defiantly like a home away from home in the country. They do have full kitchens but they still cook the meals for you. The main lodge is a great place to gather at night and get to know other hunters on the property. This place is not just a great place to go hunting but a place you would be proud to bring your family. And I am all about bringing my family along when I hunt. It's so much better being able to enjoy the harvest with my family and this is the place to do it. If your wife or kids are not hunting I seriously doubt they will get board. There is a pond near the lodge to go fishing if they like. If they would prefer to head to town, there's the great little town of Gonzales not 15 miles way. (I recommend eating at the Running M restaurant.) And If that's not good enough, San Antonio is about an hours drive and I bet the wifey will not have any problems finding the many antqiue shops on the way.

If you are a bow hunter don't be afraid of this place. They have stands for you too. Or, if you want to shoot from a popup, bring it. Another great thing about this place is, NO HOGS!!!! Being a high fence property they were able to get rid of all the hogs. So no worries when your sighted in on that trophy buck, the fear of pigs coming in and scaring off your chance of a life time. Wont happen...

And of course I had to save the best for last... Have you been to those places that you invested time and money just to come home empty handed. Well not here! Mr. Lester himself said, at his ranch if you come up empty handed you are welcome to come back the next year and YOU WON'T LOSE YOUR INVESTMENT. WHAT? Now thats awesome!!! As he says "Its not his fault you cant shoot" But being the good people they are, you're welcome to come back next year and try again.

Just check out some of the deer harvested...

If you are out for a little more than white tail. Thay have that too!!!!

So bottom line,

If you are looking for a excellent place to hunt. I recommend you start right here... http://www.lesterranch.com
